Catholics are Pagan. If you compare them you will find that the Catholics have some great likes to the Pagan pathway. That is why the Pagan path is so great is because you can have the rituals and thoughts of one and share it with the other.
some of these likeness are
1. God
2. Goddess
3. incense burning
4. Candle burning
5. Crystals

I'm so split into pieces - with this one.

Carribean Cultures, base the Catholics with African Loa. ( They're like Angels, and Demons ).

Spanish - Mexican Culture, ( San Diego, California area ) mixes this up too. Damhbala is based on the Saint Patrick Character, who has something to do with life / death / rebirth. Guadalupe is a big female character who comes and visits with the unmistakable smell of over ripe roses.

I don't even acknowledge the Pope.
(( he doesn't mediate between me and my ability to acknowledge higher and lower things. ))

Even though I go to this one small Baptist Church - even the Pastor feels that Evangelists are too strict !!! He didn't even ask them for a dime or a red cent. He works very hard as a Logger and earns enough to call neighbors on his own to congregate on their own.

... One very strange stained glass window of Mary holding a child, shows at the lower right corner of someone on a hill outstreched... with what looks like a flying saucer overhead, just hovering... So who is to ask if anybody knows the complete story.

Another School of thought...

Some feel that the Catholic System isn't Pagan at all.
- break the root word down, Pagani, is Italian for County, or Rural People.

Truthfully, somebody was appointed to commit the offensive, by showing up at a community and trying to build a temple... right where people gather to have festivals and picnics. Somehow the deed to the Property gets written and delivered back to the Vatican - and suddenly, the community that dwelled in that area no longer has any say about the property which they lived in.

This usually happens, like some cheap Parker Brothers Monopoly Game - which the whole objective, is to grab as much as you can. The winner has the most Property with Houses and Hotels to it, while the other simply goes 'bankrupted'.

--- It doesn't mean that the Pagan or Wiccan Community knows a thing or two, about Bookkeeping.

Accounting was invented in Italy in the 1400's.
--- There was a Philosophical debate to use Roman Numerals or Indian Numerals.

The Catholics wanted to keep the Roman Numbers - but in real everyday business, Indian Numerals have won out overall. Finances and the value of an asset, became known as "the root of all evil." The Indian Numerals gave rise to the thought of each number having a certain quality to them.

well, not to really get into the debate of it all, but being a practicing catholic, I believe wholeheartedly that our practices are pagan.
